Grace Gets Hitched

The morning of Grace's wedding, I had mimosas and breakfast...

while watching Grace get all fixed up for her BIG day!

I got to paint kiddie fingernails!

Three young ladies with pretty nails:

I found the beauty preparations to be rather entertaining.

Grace had a great morning!

She was bubbling over with wedding day jitters.

And maybe a few Vodka soaked gummy bears:

I tried one of these soggy bears-- blah.

Gladys had that same reaction to hairspray.  She was like-- hairspray doesn't taste good!  Hehe

I'll tell ya what did taste good-- Sparkling Raspberry Champagne!

Actually, all the food I tried that morning was delicious, even the gummy bears had a good flavor, it was the soggy and mushy texture that I disliked.

Y'all know that saying-- Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue?

Grace had all her Somethings!  :-)

Can I still remember what mine were?  Umm, yeah, Grandmas old wedding band, a new wedding gown, borrowed hair flowers, and blue earrings.

Is my little man handsome, or what?

 I got married in Arkansas.

The weather that day was HOT.

Luckily, the weather for Graces wedding was perfect.

Looking back, I think it's funny how Arkansas was one of the few states I could get married in due to my young age.

The honeymoon was in Tennessee, where my new husband and I resided.

We lived in Tennessee for 6 months before moving to Florida.

We had some great times!

We were soooo poor when we married, that we would test drive cars in order to get around.

Lucky for us, there was a car dealership right across the street from our apartment.

Soo, whenever we needed to make a run into town (5 miles away), we would do a test drive.

Eventually, the sales folk at the dealership began to catch on to us.

Again, lucky for us, as I was attending beauty school and had access to all sorts of disguising wigs and cosmetics.  ;-)

Sometimes a girl's gotta do, what a girl's gotta do.  Anyways, it was fun.

Hey, speaking of fun-- check out Mom's glasses!

Hub and his girlfriend, Lisa, flew in from California.

Uncle Bobby and my sister, Roni:

Ohh, oooo, it's starting...

No one tripped.

The wedding went smoothly.

No AFV (America's Funniest Videos) footage here.

Troy was the ring bury-er.  Yes, he thought burying the ring might be his job.  It made as much sense to him as carrying a pillow with two fake rings sewn into it.?.

The flower girls tossed petals.

Doesn't Jean look relaxed?  :-)  She may have been a tad nervous.

Dun, dun, dundun, Dunt dun dundun...

I'm not sure who actually walked who down the isle, as Glenn's hip was killing him.

Glenn is having his hips replaced soon, as the scope to fix the labral tear made it worse.

Have some flowers. ;-)

Freckles looks sooo happy!

If I wear sunglasses, maybe folks won't recognize me with this batch of hooligans!!!  ;-)

Lloyd and Mom-- don't they look good?

Grace got hitched!!!

Wedding Set-up

Did Y'all think I have forgotten about ya?

I haven't.

Grace got hitched this past Saturday.  It's been a busy weekend.

The kids and I, along with many others, helped her decorate the reception hall.

I thought the blue ball might be part of a fortune telling booth.  :-)  Look into the glass and see your future!

Grace didn't find me all that amusing.

She was a busy gal, getting ready for her big day!

Jean is the Maid of Honor.

Grace planned a fancy wedding.

A big dinner and a BIG cake, champagne, dancing, tons of flowers-- the theme was "Enchanted Forrest".

Enchanted Forrest makes me think of an amusement park that I had visited as a kid.  It used to be where a water park is now.

My job was to assemble champagne glasses.

Lots of glasses.

I rocked that job, as you can see.  ;-)

I had thought I would have liked a big wedding, but now I am thankful I had a very small one.

Eloping was and is my style.

I had a small wedding with only three guests, plus my groom.

The rain came pouring down right as we were getting ready to head to the rehearsal dinner.

This is one hungry flower girl:

Yummy pizza -- that's what's for dinner!

It's the last night that my Grace will be single.

Savoring Summer

Meow!
My sister Audrey recently adopted a basket full of kittens. They used to be mine, ever since I can remember.  I just have too much stuff, ya know?  Sugar, is the mama cat, and her three babies are vanilla, peach and strawberry.  Cute ahy?  I will miss em, but they have a good home.  :-)

It is still feeling like summer around here!

Grace's wedding is coming up this weekend, so I might not be causing mayhem on the lake.  The fish can relax for a change.  :-)

I've also been busy restoring my Dad's motorcycle; more on that soon.

Troy and still find going through the tunnel a thrill!  It's amazing the toon fits, because viewing the opening from out on the lake, it looks wayyyyy to small.

Even up close, it doesn't seem like a big ole pontoon should fit, but it does!  Once in awhile, I find myself ducking to avoid being scalped though-- depending on where I am at in the boat.

Troy and I swim together often.

He does a lot of jumping off the toon.

And of course, we do our hair, too. ;-)

Here's a glimpse of the rare Troy fish swimming along side the drifting pontoon:

Savor the rest of this summer like weather while it lasts!  :-)

Long Lake

Long Lake in Valparaiso, Indiana is one of those lakes that I either do really well on, or I don't.

Unfortunately, the last time I fished Long Lake, I didn't do so well.

However, on days when it takes 1000 casts, just to get a bluegill to bite, it makes that one bluegill seem like a heck of a trophy!!!

Check out the tree at the boat ramp:

I wonder how long it's been there?  :-)

Have you Seen My Spaceship?

Hi All!  I'm still here.  It's been a crazy couple of weeks!  Jean is now a year older, little Troy can see out both of his eyes now, Glenn is looking at yet another hip surgery, and I'm restoring a motorcycle.
Lately it seems life is happening faster than I can blog it!!!

Jean came over for grilled pork chops, that is her favorite supper.  I fixed potatoes, and corn casserole to go along with the chops, but I was too slow with the camera.

Of course, Jean had to have a birthday cake!  I made her a chocolate chip cookie cheesecake/bars.  She loves chocolate chip cookies, and the cheesecake was a delight.

Jean recently purchased a new/used car-- nooo, not a Jag!   While we were car shopping, a walking stick was checking out the Jaguar.

Sunday, the church held a special outdoors church service in the town square of Valparaiso; it was interesting and fun!

I happened to park my lawn chair right by this sign:

I haven't seen the Spaceship yet. ;-)
