Sky Diving

This weekend started off with some serious thrills today!  We went to Frankfort, Indiana to watch Glenn skydive.  We arrived to see the early divers float down to land. They all missed the landing strip by about half a mile due to the wind and wound up landing corn field ready to to be harvested.

Glenn signed his life away, watched a short video and then got suited up.

His guide put the harness on him.

Glenn was psyched and ready to go!

The little purple things attached to his jumpsuit are grips in case his guide needs to grab onto him.

Don'tcha just love Troy's expression in this pic:

Troy thought we were just kidding him about his Dad jumping out of a plane.

We watched as people practiced falling (4" from the ground), funny huh?

One last jumpsuit/harness check and it's time to go!

The guide, Glenn, and the cameraman board the plane.

Off they go!

About ten minutes later, and 10,000 or so feet up, I could faintly make out a plane in the sky.  Then I could see a bunch of tiny specks  jumping out.

The observer guy standing next to me was like-- come on men open your chutes, open em, open em. .... Why are they not opening the chutes?, THE CHUTES ARE NOT OPENING!........ OH Thank God they opened!

Glenn had a nice and easy landing right where he was supposed to be.

Troy ran out to welcome him back to land.

Glenn thought it was great!

The kids got into the plane.

Gladys was preparing to jump.

She did; from a height of about 3 feet.
