Waterfall Braid

Helllloooo!

I've been feeling sorry for myself lately.  Mainly because I had to have extensive dental work done due to a cracked tooth.  I don't even know how I managed to crack it.  Maybe I do clinch my teeth at night when I am having nightmares about falling off a cliff.  Who knows?

Well, anyhow, to make my -destined to be toothless- self feel better, I've been practicing a new hairstyle.  The waterfall braid:

I've found the best way to achieve nice and even spacing while braiding one's own hair, is to lay down on the bed and use the bristle end of the brush as a spacing guide.  Also, this technique helps prevent arm fatigue because it allows your elbows to rest as needed.

I'm liking the way this braid keeps the hair out of my face.  Although, looking at this pic, I do miss having bangs a little:

I used bobby pins to secure the later end and did a complete crown.  Next time I sport this braid, I think straitening my hair first will help the braid itself stand out more and give it a new look.
