Snow Ice Cream

Howdy Folk's!

Good news, this blustery winter weather has broke!  Today the high was, a lovely, 41 degrees.  The kids and I built some fun snowpeople, like this girl doing a handstand.

School around these parts has been cancelled all week long now. Sigh :/

This extra long Christmas vacation has us all going a bit stir crazy.

Usually we play outside on a daily basis, and when the temps were in the negative, that's just not any fun.  Luckily, today we had a good dose of outside time.

Gladys helped make the face.  Isn't she pretty?

Gladys also made this snowgirl sun bathing.

I was excited to see a trace of pavement on the roadways today.

With all the extra snow we have around here, I decided to try making SNOW Ice Cream!!

It's nothing hard to make.  The kids collected a big bowl of fresh snow.  Keyword is fresh, nothing that has been stepped on or otherwise will do.  Eight cups of snow gets mixed with one can of sweetened condensed milk, (I used fat free) and a teaspoon of vanilla.

It turned out fabulously.

On the days that playing outside wasn't an option, we went over to the fitness center to play and workout.

My grandma's roller skates:

These Beauties are the real thing, and lucky for us we have the perfect place to wear them to;

the prison gym!

Gladys was the one to skate the most, while superTroy chased her around; note-- the cape.

I've been working out every chance I get, and it's going much better now that the kids are into skating.

Keep on Rollin!  :)
